Anna Bessono va is a ukraina former individual rhythmic gymnast. She is an
Olympic Bronze medalist and the 2007 World All-around Champion. A very talented
gymnast, she is also a four-time European All-around medalist and the 2003 Grand Prix Final
All-around champion. Born into a sporting family, a deep interest in sports came naturally
to her. Her father is a former football player while her mother is a former rhytmic gymnast
from whom she received her initial training. Her mother, herself a two-time World champion
group rhythmic gymnast, introduced Anna to the sport. She started receiving her training
when she was five. Her mother soon recognized her talents and ensured that she received
training from the reputed coaches Albina Derugina and Irina Deriugina.
Anna started displayiing her genius from a young age and became the youngest
participant in the Ukraina team during the 2001 World Championships in Japan. In spite of
her yong age, she performed vey agile gymnast and went from success to success, peaking
at her top form in the 2002 World Cup Final in Stuttgart where she was placed first on the
hoop, the roop and the clubs.
